the boredom that summer caused, pushed me to read books beyond my world haha.
MILK WEED:Jerry Spinelli
these are some of my questions and uhm,?so as sharing it while i was reading this book.
His earliest memory is running and stealing bread. He doesn’t know his name. Runt. Stopthief. Jew. Stupid. Gypsy. They are all names he has been called at one time or another. He is an orphan boy existing on the streets of Warsaw during World War II. He is small and quick and uses these qualities to steal food, clothes, whatever he needs. He and his other orphaned friends live by their wits. As the war progresses and conditions worsen it becomes harder to find food and the people around him start to fall away, but still he approaches life with cheer and a positive spirit. What will become of this boy who doesn’t really understand what is going on around him? Will the trains that come to the ghetto take him away? If you have read other books about World War II, you should try this one. The boy’s point of view is unique for its toughness of spirit and innocence about the world.
